Custom software, shipped in weeks — not quarters

We rebuilt how software gets made:
AI does the typing, senior engineers own every line that ships.
From idea to MVP — in 3 weeks.

Why us

We cancelled the old way of building software

Large teams of managers, front-end and back-end developers and a QA department are slow and expensive — and most of what they do all day is typing that a machine.

Small senior teams with AI in the loop replace them.

One accountable engineer

Every project has one senior engineer who owns it end to end, uses AI as an amplifier for the routine, and answers for what ships.

Lower cost
30–50%

On the code-writing share we are typically 2–4× faster than our own pre-AI baseline, which lands full projects 30–50% below a traditional estimate.

Enterprise engineering, without enterprise budgets

What used to require a seven-figure budget — real architecture, tests, CI, observability — now fits into a project a small company can actually afford.

Our job isn't only writing code — it's running the pipeline that turns your requirements into a working product.

Time-to-Market

From idea to launch in weeks, not months

Where the speed actually comes from:

  • Immediate start. The team is on your project within two to three working days.
  • AI-Driven Engineering. AI handles boilerplate, CRUD and test scaffolding — the measurable 2–4× on the code-writing share.
  • Architecture already solved. Internal libraries and service templates instead of starting from a blank repository.
  • Parallel streams. Architecture, design and development run at the same time, not in a relay.

While others are still writing the specification, you are testing version one with real users.

01
2–4 days

Discovery & estimate

We dig into the business problem, write down the requirements and put a number on the project.

02
5–7 days

Prototype (UI/UX)

You click through every screen of the product before a line of it is built.

03
in 3 weeks

MVP launch

The first working version in front of real users — fast feedback and real metrics.

04
from 2 months

Full release

A mature product with the full feature set, documentation and support.

The new arithmetic

New arithmetic of your development budget

We didn't just bolt AI onto an old process — we rebuilt the process around it.

How we work

Engineering that works for you

Every release carries the same three things: AI in the loop, a team that keeps learning, and a security pass before it ships.

Expertise that stays ahead

The tooling changes every quarter, so learning is scheduled, not hoped for: every engineer spends four paid hours a week on it.

Expertise that stays ahead

Humans and AI, in that order

AI is built into the pipeline to remove the routine. Decisions, architecture and review stay human.

Humans and AI, in that order

Security before release

An independent pair of eyes audits and stress-tests the build before every release.

Security before release

A process you can see into

No black box. Tasks are broken down, estimates are honest, and you get full access to the tracker and the repository from day one.

Team

We are AI-native software company

Cast & Ship is a software company where a compact senior team runs an AI-assisted pipeline instead of typing everything by hand.

When custom is the right call

Off-the-shelf covers the typical. Does it cover you?

Custom software earns its price when the business doesn't fit the box. Four situations we get called for:

The process doesn't fit the box

The CRM is configured like everyone else's and half the real work still happens in spreadsheets next to it. Custom software development →

An AI-built prototype won't go live

The demo works and production is impossible: no row-level security, secrets in the front end, payments in test mode. Prototype rescue →

The old system is holding growth back

Legacy is expensive to maintain and dangerous to touch — we modernise it in stages, with tests as the safety net, not in one big rewrite. Legacy modernisation →

The product has to be out fast

An MVP tests the hypothesis in weeks; the full version tests your patience for a year. MVP development →

Not sure whether off-the-shelf fits? Start with a scoping sprint — architecture, breakdown and a fixed quote instead of guesswork.

Cost

What custom software actually costs

Price depends on the type of system, the number of integrations and how much of it is genuinely custom. Turnkey builds start from $7,990 and the exact figure is fixed in the contract after a free estimate — describe the task and we answer within one business day.

FAQ

Questions we get on the first call

How much does custom software development cost?
Our fixed packages run from $7,990 for an MVP to $35,900+ for a product-grade platform; hourly work is $28–55 by role.
How long does it take?
Three weeks for a first shippable version, six to eight weeks for a multi-role system, two to three months for a product-grade platform.
Why are you cheaper than a traditional studio?
Because the routine typing is done by AI under a senior engineer, and we don't bill you for a four-person department.
Fixed price or time and materials?
Fixed price suits an MVP or any project with a written scope — the figure and the date are locked before we start.
How does payment work?
By milestone: 30% at kickoff and design, 30% after the build and demo, 40% on acceptance.
Who owns the code?
You do.
We have no specification yet — just the idea. Where do we start?
With a 20-minute call: we pull out the requirements, propose an approach and put a number on it. If it needs real depth, take a scoping sprint or technical discovery — you get the architecture, the breakdown and a fixed quote.
Can you work on our existing system instead of rewriting it?
Yes — that's a large part of what we do, including codebases left by other vendors. We start with a paid audit so nobody estimates blind. See legacy modernisation and project rescue.
Do you integrate with CRMs, ERPs and payment providers?
Yes — integrations are a service of their own: ERP and accounting, CRM, payments, marketplaces, carriers and any API you need to talk to. See system integrations.
What happens after launch?
A warranty period with defects fixed at no charge, then support and maintenance under an SLA from $790 a month.
Can we develop the system ourselves afterwards?
Yes. Along with the rights you get the source code, the runbook and the documentation — your team or any other vendor can pick it up.
Where is your team based?
The company is headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia, and the team is distributed across Europe. how we work.

The next product that works could be yours.

Let's build it.
